Cardrona Games Slopestyle

Smooooth stuff from Alta and Burton rider JAY WALSH at the LG FIS Continental Cup Slopestyle at Cardrona Alpine Resort. The first event of its kind in Australasia, the competition attracted a broad field from 10 countries to Cardrona’s restructured slopestyle course.

The LG Continental Cup was held at Cardrona on 3rd Sepetmber. This was a Slopestyle event held in difficult conditions…a world class field of althletes competed for valuable FIS points.

Pictured here is Burton and Alta teamrider Jay Walsh giving it 100%.

The Continental Cup leads into the FIS World Cup Half Pipe event this coming weekend. This will be held at Cardronas new 22ft Super Pipe, a first for the Southern Hemi.

Snowpark Snow Stock 2008 – Open to Punters?

5 Super keen Aussie riders are heading over to NZ next week and we will be over there at the same time Snow Stock is on at Snow Park nz.

Does anyone know if they will be closing the whole mountain down during the event? meaning that we will not be able to ride there at all on the Thursday and the Friday??

The comp is being held on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th, With Saturday 16th being held as a weather day…

Just want some clarification that if the weather is fine on both the Thursday and the Friday – Does that mean that the mountain will be open as per normal to the public on the Saturday??

Only asking this because way too many a time in OZ, when they have a comp on and make the park extra special for a comp, they then tend to close the best parts of it for some reason to stop the normal punters having fun….

Burton Open is Underway

The Burton New Zealand Open is underway. This is year 6 for The Open in NZ.

Riders from all over the world, the youngest 10 and the oldest 62 sessioned the Snow Park pipe today to try and qualify for the main event on Saturday. Pictured here is Alta and junior Burton NZ Team rider Jay Walsh.
